DjangoCon US 2025
I’ve just returned home from attending DjangoCon US 2025, and it was everything I’d hoped it’d be. I’ve been hoping to attend for years, but this was the first time the timing worked out, so this was my first in-person DjangoCon. (I’ve attended online before, and I highly encourage you to attend whichever way works for you.)
I got to see old friends, to finally meet people in-person that I’ve known on the internet for years, and to meet plenty of new people as well. As usual, I didn’t see as many talks as I originally planned, but that was mostly due to volunteering, which was a ton of fun. You should volunteer, too! Not just because it helps the conference, but also because it’s an excellent way to meet and interact with the community. I did catch a few talks, though, and they were excellent.
I am left with that post-conference buzz and an energy to put some projects out into the world. I’m excited to keep in touch with the people I met there and look forward to the next time we meet, whether that be at DjangoCon US, PyCon US, or another Python or Django conference.
I’m glad I was finally able to attend, and this experience definitely has me working on finding ways to attend some more of those “some day I’ll get there” conferences. Many of these are listed at https://www.pycon.org/ and https://github.com/python-organizers/conferences/, so if you’re looking for a conference to attend, those are excellent resources. I’ll definitely be back to DjangoCon US, and I may even become a regular attendee. See you at the next one!
P.S. I don’t write many conference recap blog posts (though, I should). If you’d like to read another recap post, I encourage you to read Kati’s, and I plan to link a few more as I find them myself.
